About the Program

Your Journey to Confidence and Success

The path to fluency can feel overwhelming. The English Language Institute (ELI) is designed for achievers — we move beyond basic ESL classes to provide targeted training in grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Our programs are designed for international students, newcomers to Canada, and local residents improving their English for study, work, or everyday life — in a supportive, immersive environment with experienced instructors.

Placement & Assessment

Start at the Right Level

  • Placement test — every new student is placed in the correct level
  • Continuous assessment — quizzes, assignments, presentations, and participation
  • Final level assessment — an exam and/or project to complete each level
  • Certificate of Completion — showing the proficiency level you achieved
Placement with Test Scores

Placed by Your Lowest Band

Students with IELTS or TOEFL scores are placed in the level that matches their lowest band score. For example, an overall IELTS 5.0 with Reading 4.5 is placed in Level 6.

To join Level 1, you should be able to read, write, and spell using the alphabet, answer basic questions about yourself, and use numbers from 1 to 100. Elite College may retest students whose level doesn’t match their scores.
